About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Vice President of Accounting to take the lead in our accounting strategy and operations. In this critical financial leadership role, you will manage the accounting for our diverse portfolio of real estate assets, which includes residential, commercial, and student housing. You will oversee multi-entity accounting functions, ensuring all processes are aligned with accuracy, compliance, and growth potential.

Your responsibilities will also encompass driving the transition to GAAP-compliant accounting, developing and enforcing robust accounting policies and internal controls, and overseeing all areas of corporate accounting such as financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and cash management strategies.

To qualify for this role, you should possess a CPA and a Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience is essential, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. Experience in public accounting at a Big 4 or regional firm is highly desirable. You must have a solid understanding of US GAAP, consolidations, and intercompany accounting, with specific experience in the real estate sector, particularly in investment, development, or property management accounting.

Your skills should include proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel capabilities, while familiarity with real estate accounting platforms will be an advantage. We seek a candidate with a proven track record of successfully leading and developing accounting teams, versatile analytical and problem-solving skills, and outstanding communication abilities. A high sense of ownership, urgency, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential for success in this role.
