About The Position
Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Tele RN experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Post-operative care experience Orthopedic experience Telemetry skills, including cardiac rhythm interpretation Ability to manage drains and tubes Experience with PCA pumps and wound care Description: RN - MedSurg/Tele needed for a nursing role. Facility has 109 licensed beds with a focus on general medical and surgical patients. Average census is 22 patients with a 35-bed unit. Patient types include stroke, CHF, COPD, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, post-surgical and behavioral health cases. Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6, depending on acuity, with potential surge staffing increasing the ratio up to 1:7-8. Required skills include TPN and PPN management, as well as various procedural competencies. The department provides support through CNAs and respiratory therapists, with physicians available 24/7. Technology used includes EPIC for EMR, various IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, cardiac monitors, and unit-specific equipment. Floating requirements will apply within the scope of practice. Travelers must be open to floating to other units or facilities as needed. Weekend rotation is every other weekend with no call requirements. Travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days excluding holidays and must be added to the end of the contract if necessary. Unit culture emphasizes teamwork.
