Role summary The Site Leader will provide world-class jobsite leadership for large, long-duration, high-profile orders of Vertiv power and/or thermal equipment. The Site Leader is the primary Vertiv Service on-site technical representative for large jobs, from construction start through start-up, site acceptance testing, and project completion. The Site Leader establishes and maintains rapport with customers, co-workers, sales representatives, and others as appropriate. The Site Leader works with the Project Manager to collaborate on cost controls, schedule adherence, resource management, and a positive customer experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide jobsite technical leadership for large projects

Remain factory certified on a variety of products that interact with Liebert systems

Lead an on-site team of 1-2 Project Leaders who may supervise crews of 1-10 Technicians

Represent Vertiv at daily customer meetings and coordinate technical requirements for the day’s schedule

Lead and support start-up and site testing activities

Ensure sufficient manpower on-site daily for start-up and site testing

Assist during start-up and site testing as needed based on manpower

Provide daily status reports to Service Management, Project Management and sales

Technical Responsibilities

Keeps current on Vertiv equipment start-up and commissioning processes, procedures, and tools

Keeps current on Safety Bulletins and related notices

Safety Responsibilities

Leads daily toolbox talks, pre-job safety walk and inspections, and drives corrective actions as needed

Works safely in accordance with published guidelines and wears required PPE

Adheres to work hours policy and reports all accidents/injuries within 24 hours

Leads by example with STOP WORK authority and timely closure of corrective actions

Administrative Responsibilities

Adheres to Vertiv Warranty process in partnership with Project Manager

Provides accurate and timely reporting (timecards, expenses, mileage, SR/task closures, etc.)

Supports Project Manager with obtaining necessary technical data

Maintains company property per policies

Customer Satisfaction Responsibilities

Provide clear communication with internal and external customers

Aligns customer expectations with Vertiv activity and re-aligns as needed

Maintains customer satisfaction in line with company guidelines

Personal Performance Expectations

Make decisions prioritizing Safety, Quality, Timeliness, Cost, Productivity

Make timely technical and commercial decisions under pressure

Maintain productive utilization and adhere to safety and dress code

Understand startup/escalation processes; demonstrate Vertiv Behaviors

Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Handle stressful situations with diplomacy

Qualifications

Experience (one or more of the following): ASEET – preferred; ASMET; Six years military experience in a related field; Minimum 2 years in Industrial construction management; equivalent industry experience

Interpersonal Skills: Vertiv Behavior practitioner; strong organizational and communication skills; ability to build trusted customer relationships; collaborative in high-pressure environments

Comprehensive knowledge of electrical/electronic test equipment and theory; ability to read electrical diagrams and blueprints

Technical skills: site evaluation, reporting, on-site leadership, COHE procedures, site acceptance testing; computer skills (word, spreadsheets, email, data analysis)

Mechanical aptitude

Working Conditions

Long-term assignments (4 weeks to 12+ months) based on project scope

Travel with a field rotation and on-site work with a 40-hour minimum on billable tasks

Industrial new construction or retrofit projects

Flexible schedules (weekends, evenings, holidays)

Valid driver’s license; deployable for emergencies

Physical Requirements Regular standing, walking, use of hands, lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally 75 lbs). Vision requirements described in job listing.
