Overview The IDB Group is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and results-driven consultant to join the Social Sector Department (SCL) as a Strategic Engagement Support Consultant. Based at our Headquarters in Washington, D.C., this international consultant role includes visa and relocation support. The role supports the sector’s management team in strengthening contributions across flagship initiatives and global development fora to increase regional impact and strengthen the relevance of the social sector.

Support SCL’s management team to identify and systematize opportunities for contributions across corporate IDB initiatives and external platforms. Support the development and management of alliances with strategic partners. Convene and coordinate internal SCL teams to prepare integrated inputs and contributions. Draft timely talking points, background briefs, reports, presentations and outreach materials for SCL senior leadership. Track deliverables and results across initiatives, ensuring follow-up and consistency. Prepare periodic progress reports and knowledge products to capture lessons learned. What you’ll need
Education: Master’s degree in economics, public policy, political science, international relations, or other relevant fields. Experience: At least 5 years of progressive international development experience, with a focus on strategic partnerships and analytical work in the social sector or related fields. Experience with multilateral organizations or global fora is highly desirable. Ability to analyze datasets, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for decision-making and strategic positioning. Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) is required. Knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable. Requirements
Citizenship: Must be a citizen of one of IDB’s 48 member countries. Relocation and visa assistance may be offered for you and eligible dependents.
