FLSA Status: Full-time, non-exempt Rate: $19-$22.00/hour Department: Business Office/ Financial Aid Reports to: Executive Director of Administration and Finance The AAC Financial Aid Counselor plays a vital role in ensuring that federal, state, and college regulations are enforced. They are responsible for collecting, reviewing, and verifying financial aid documents to ensure their accuracy and compliance. Additionally, they meet with students and their families to provide guidance and assistance in completing financial aid paperwork. The counselor also explains students' rights and responsibilities when it comes to each type of financial aid source. Overall, the AAC Financial Aid Counselor is an essential part of the financial aid process, ensuring that students receive the funding they need to achieve their academic goals. Below is the list of Responsibilities/ Procedures. •Respond quickly to emails and phone calls; within two days. •Review ISIRs and review SAR Codes and communicate with students •Look up MPNs and ECs Status in COD •Update NSR (New Student Review) during the academic year. This report is critical for tracking the incoming class regarding the FA process. •Work in the financial aid section of Campus Café•Package Reviews with students and families. Email students Financial Aid PowerPoint, Award Offer, and Estimate of Fall semester. •Works in collaboration with Enrollment and Academic offices to ensure that incoming students receive important communications related to the enrollment process, FA timelines, and supports the cross-departmental team to meet enrollment deadlines and goals. •Have a basic understanding of the Billing Process -Balance outstanding -Copy of bill/statement -Assist with contacting students for any missing information
