The
Sous Chef
plays a critical leadership role in the daily operations of the kitchen, supporting the Executive Chef in maintaining culinary excellence and smooth execution. This role requires a high level of professionalism, creativity, and operational knowledge to uphold the standards set by Chef Michael White. The ideal candidate will lead by example, inspire their team, and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment. Key Responsibilities
Support the Executive Chef in all areas of kitchen operations, including service, prep, and expediting
Lead and mentor the line team to ensure consistency, quality, and attention to detail
Execute and uphold Chef Michael White’s culinary vision, recipes, and plating standards
Assist with inventory control, ordering, and cost management
Maintain all health, safety, and sanitation protocols as per local and internal guidelines
Participate in menu development and testing of new seasonal dishes
Ensure the kitchen is properly staffed, trained, and performing at the highest level
Foster a respectful, collaborative, and high-performing kitchen culture
Step into the Executive Chef’s role when necessary
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen role in a fine dining or high-end restaurant
Formal culinary training preferred
Strong foundation in modern and classical cooking techniques
Proven leadership and team management skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
A passion for hospitality, seasonality, and culinary innovation
Experience working under or alongside high-profile chefs is a plus
