About the Role:

Working in a print center mailroom involves a unique blend of printing, mail handling, and administrative tasks. The specific duties can vary depending on the size and scope of the operation, but generally include:

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Printing and production

Operating and maintaining equipment: This includes managing various copiers, printers, binding machines, shredders, and other print finishing equipment. Handling print jobs: Tasks like preparing print files, producing reports, agendas, flyers, and marketing materials, and performing complex color copy work fall under this category. Finishing and binding: This involves binding documents using various methods, perforating, trimming, cutting, folding, and stapling. Quality control: Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of printed materials and troubleshooting issues like paper jams or ink shortages are crucial aspects of the role. Mailroom operations

Receiving and processing mail: This includes retrieving mail from the post office, sorting it by department or recipient, and handling certified or registered mail. Preparing outgoing mail: Tasks involve weighing mail, applying postage, packaging, labeling, and arranging for pickups by postal services or couriers. Package handling: Receiving, tracking, and distributing incoming and outgoing packages, including overnight shipments, is a common duty. Digital mail processing: Depending on the organization's use of technology, the role might also involve scanning incoming mail, creating digital files, and routing them electronically to the appropriate recipients. Other tasks

Inventory management: Monitoring and ordering printing and mailing supplies to maintain adequate stock levels. Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of print and mail volumes, job completion logs, and tracking information. Troubleshooting equipment: Performing minor repairs and coordinating with technicians for more complex issues. Customer service: Responding to inquiries from employees regarding mail services, package tracking, and printing requests. Maintaining the work area: Ensuring the mailroom is kept clean, organized, and free from hazards. Driving a company vehicle: Some positions may involve driving to the post office or other locations for mail pickup and delivery. Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to work at a computer for extended periods. Capability to stand, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, sit, talk, or hear as required by job duties. Close vision and ability to focus are necessary for performing tasks accurately. Experience with data entry is desirable. Ability to engage in repetitive motion activities like twisting, bending, and climbing. Previous experience with data entry is advantageous.
