Job Description
We are actively looking for an experienced Controller who will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and leading a small accounting team. Experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry, point of sale (POS) systems and inventory management is a plus but not required. A solid track record in managing corporate accounting and financial analysis/reporting. The role of the Controller includes, but is not limited to, monthly financial statements, monthly analysis/reporting, cash management, overseeing accounts receivable/payable/payroll, monthly reconciliations, budgeting, and year-end tax support.
Responsibilities: Direct the daily finances and accounting of all company-owned restaurant locations. Oversee the POS, inventory, and restaurant reporting systems. Manage general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Produce monthly financial statements and statistics. Work closely with restaurant owners and management team. Development and implementing accounting policies and procedures. Manage a small accounting staff. Provide other administrative and operational support, as needed. Experience and Skills
5+ years of experience as a Corporate Controller within the restaurant/hospitality industry preferred This is a 'hands-on' role. You must be actively involved while managing a small team Ability to lead an accounting department and work well with others Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting demands Ability to wear multiple hats in a small business environment Strong focus on managing financial operations and financial statement accuracy Controller experience with a strong work ethic required Cash management experience is necessary Strong QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel skills Analytical, problem solving, communication and organization skills Accounting degree preferred Job Benefits
