OVERVIEW
CCS is looking to hire a Network Engineer to be an integral part of our Project Services Team whose function is to support and deliver a variety of network-based projects to a large client base primarily throughout the Tri-State Area, and other client locations as needed. Custom is seeking an individual who will contribute to the overall success of the team and company by collaborating with peers to deliver projects on time, providing exceptional client support, offering technology consulting, and supporting fellow team members. The individuals’ primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing networks for our clients. This person should have prior experience within these areas and with delivering project-based work, on-site support, and network technology consulting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining knowledge of current networking technologies and trends.
Drive best practices for designs, configuration, installations, and integrations.
Provide consulting on networking technologies aligned with client goals and initiatives.
Assist with solution designing and provide bill of materials for networking solutions.
Successfully deliver profitable, on-time projects while ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
Provide networking support to our clients, peers, and other team within the Custom Organization.
Identify areas of process streamlining and automation.
Perform on-site walk-throughs for wireless site surveys, new installations, and bid responses.
Mentoring other team members
Creating and maintaining strong client relationships through communication resulting in clients viewing you as a trusted advisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred bachelor’s degree in related technical discipline and 4+ years of experience; or an associate’s degree coupled with 6+ years of experience working with networking including switching, routing, firewall, wireless, and WAN technologies.
CCNA or another network vendor equivalent certification preferred.
Three to five years’ experience or education in IT, Computer Science, or network field.
Previous experience delivering small to enterprise networking projects consisting of switching, routing, wireless, and firewall technologies.
Understanding basic security concepts and best practices as it relates to networking technologies.
In depth knowledge of industry standard best practices for networking and wireless
In depth knowledge of networking protocols
In depth knowledge of networking architecture
Working knowledge of multi-vendor networking equipment and programming language s such as Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, and Extreme , Python, and JAVA to name a few
Working knowledge of scripting technologies such as Python for configuration automation
Working knowledge of APIs monitoring and configuration modifications of network devices
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written with emphasis on timely response.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical users.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively manage time in a multitasking environment, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships with clients.
Customer-focused mindset and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with the willingness and ability to travel to support clients throughout the 5 boroughs and tri-state area .
Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. independently.
Able to perform on-site installations and provide support during normal business hours.
Available to support on-site installations or respond to issues after hours, as required.
Ability to work on multi-vendor networking technologies (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc...)
Ability to configure, deploy, support, and troubleshoot network environments including switching, routing, firewall, wireless, and WAN technologies.
Ability and willingness to be flexible with work hours for delivering projects (some evenings and weekends for network integrations according to client needs). Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with emphasis on timely response.
