Accounts Payable Accountant
We are currently seeking candidates for an
Accounts Payable Accountant
position with a successful financial services firm located in Boston, MA. The
Accounts Payable Accountant
will be responsible for managing and processing invoices, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have 1 – 3+ years of related accounts payable experience.
This is a
6+ month contract
opportunity, paying $25-$30/hour depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
Partner with the accounting team and assist with accounts payable processes.
Verify invoices for proper documentation and approvals before processing payments.
Prepare invoices for payment and process check requests efficiently.
Review and validate expense reports submitted by administrative staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Perform analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring all payments are current and accurate.
Liaise with vendors to clarify billing procedures, payment timelines, and key contacts.
Address and resolve vendor questions or issues promptly.
Assist with ad hoc projects, providing support and completing tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required).
1–2+ years of related accounts payable or accounting experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables).
Experience with Workday or similar accounting systems (preferred).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and professionalism.
Good time management and prioritization skills.
