Overview
Senior Accounting Subject Matter Expert at Integrated Finance & Accounting Solutions (IFAS). We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting and Analysis Consultant to support the IRS CFO Financial Management team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in federal financial reporting, audit readiness, internal controls, and automation. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal accounting standards and improve financial reporting processes. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review annual and periodic financial statements in accordance with FASAB and OMB Circular A-136. Ensure compliance with GAO, Treasury, OMB, and USSGL requirements. Support audit readiness, including documentation, walkthroughs, and response to inquiries. Compile and validate audit deliverables and internal control testing documentation. Assist with TIER/GTAS submissions and Treasury-level reporting. Support journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Recommend and implement automation tools, dashboards, and AI-driven solutions. Support accurate reporting of revenue and refunds across tax classes. Analyze and adjust GL accounts, accruals, and imputed costs. Prepare and deliver training on financial reporting standards and tools. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CGFM preferred) 5+ years of experience in federal financial reporting or auditing Strong knowledge of FASAB, OMB Circular A-136, USSGL, and Treasury reporting Experience with SAP, IFS, RRACS, and TIER/GTAS systems Proficiency in data analysis, automation tools, and financial modeling Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills Must be U.S. Citizen to qualify for Public Trust Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AI, RPA, or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) Familiarity with IRS financial systems and reporting processes Prior experience supporting GAO or TIGTA audits Work Schedule
Will require to work onsite 5 days a week at 1111 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20224 Seniority level
