This position is located in the Nursing Department at one of the various Indian Health Service facilities in the Great Plains Area. It involves performing the primary functions of a Registered Nurse, which include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients in the Outpatient Department with medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, or newborn conditions.

• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. The agency must ensure that persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes.
• Measles and Rubella immunization are required for selectees born after 1957, and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service healthcare facilities.
• The selected individual must obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including licensure requirements. Failure to do so may result in adverse employment actions, up to removal from Federal service.
