At The J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center, we’ve been empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 60 years—and we’re just getting started. As part of our Pathways program, you’ll contribute to a team that’s committed to compassionate care, inclusive education, and continuous growth.
As the Administrative Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the operations and organization of our special education program. From managing schedules and preparing reports to supporting grant tracking and assisting with recruitment, your work ensures that staff and students have what they need to succeed. You’ll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to helping children with autism reach their full potential.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate meetings, training sessions, and appointments—ensuring alignment with special education timelines
- Maintain special education databases and compliance documents
- Draft and format correspondence, reports, forms, and presentations
- Support purchasing processes, inventory tracking, and invoice submissions
- Prepare statistical data and assist with billing for school districts and consultations
- Respond to internal and external inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
- Support staff recruitment and onboarding processes
- Assist with grant monitoring, financial tracking, and fundraising efforts
- Serve as receptionist for program visitors and phone calls
- Organize large-scale mailings and marketing campaigns
- Perform day-to-day office tasks including scanning, copying, filing, and organizing
- Provide support in classrooms when needed, ensuring the safety and dignity of students
What You Bring
- Associate’s degree in business, Human Services, or related field
- At least 2 years of clerical or administrative experience; school setting preferred
- Familiarity with special education regulations is strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with families and professionals
- Experience with grant and tuition management is a plus
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
