Overview

The Truck Driver will be based out of the Crossett, AR location. This position offers a MONDAY TO FRIDAY schedule with paid holidays and paid time off, and the role is typically performed in a delivery van or box truck (No CDL required). Employee level and pay depend on experience, knowledge, and capabilities.

Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible for delivering products to/from customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and company suppliers. Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements and that materials are correct and free of damage.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect the company vehicle for visual and operating defects and complete a daily inspection report
• Keep the vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; alert supervisor of repairs needed
• Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local and state driving laws and regulations
• Load/unload vehicle; verify material for each order (quantity and type) and ensure it is free of damage before departure
• Assist in preparing orders for delivery when needed
• Complete documentation at the time of delivery (delivery receipt signed by customer, packing list, branch/warehouse manifest)
• PICK UP material returns from customers; inspect condition and verify quantities and catalog numbers
• PICK UP material from company suppliers
• Senior Truck Driver may participate in training and mentoring of entry-level drivers
• May support other warehouse duties such as preparing, filling, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material

What You’ll Need

• In lieu of experience, must attend company driver training
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must pass a pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record review
• Must obtain a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire
• Must not have had a suspended drivers’ license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years
• Must not have any at-fault accidents in the past 3 years

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations; familiar with traffic and driver laws
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent customer service skills; good attention to detail
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Progression: Truck Driver I, II, Senior levels with corresponding responsibility for issues and problems
