Responsibilities

• Makes daily pre/post trip inspections on the assigned vehicle to maintain safety and report any problems to the shop immediately.
• Drives tanker truck to predetermined destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads.
• Works with paving crews and sprays bituminous tack-coat.
• Maintains a truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
• Communicates traffic or site condition problems promptly; obtains information on job site locations and any bridging or road constraints on the route.
• Complies with all aspects of truck maintenance, cleanliness and repair per the Truck Driver's Handbook guidelines.
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred or related work experience.
• 1-2 years CDL driving experience with GVW 33,000 pounds or greater.
• In compliance with all DOT physical requirements.
• Hazmat experience preferred but not required.
• Skilled in loading and unloading fuel and oil from the fuel truck at terminals.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
