General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be assigned additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in all tasks.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe, secure shopping environment; keep exits clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet Customers and recognize fellow Associates through Company programs.
- Assist Customers (register-trained), answer questions politely and knowledgeably; greet Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly tone throughout the store.
- Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customer inquiries and service calls; involve Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain merchandise, customer, and Team areas.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
- Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandise items per guidelines, and maintain brand familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follow MOS policies and ensure proper processing and disposal approvals by Store Leadership.
- Follow all policies concerning cash, checks, charge cards, refunds, voids, and offline procedures; maintain accuracy with bankable tenders.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders; some assignments may require other qualifications.
- Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is $15.00 - $15.50 per hour, depending on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, education, seniority, and location. Other rewards vary by position and location. Benefits offered to all Associates include insurance programs, Associate Discount, 401K, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and more. Full-Time Associates may be eligible for extended benefits and bonuses based on performance.
