Responsibilities

  • The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience, greeting customers, and maintaining a clean work area and proper merchandise presentation.
  • Engaged in assigned tasks during working hours and perform a range of functions in all store areas as business needs require.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors at all times.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe, clutter-free environment; report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow associates using company recognition programs.
  • Assist customers with merchandise, answer questions, greet customers, and process transactions politely and knowledgeably.
  • Provide prompt responses to customers and escalate issues to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks and replenish restroom supplies to maintain store cleanliness.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
  • Perform daily sizing and recovery to ensure neat, organized store presentation.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly guidelines.
  • Understand Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
  • Follow MOS policies and proper disposition/notification processes.
  • Follow policies concerning cash, checks, card transactions, refunds, and offline procedures; maintain accuracy with tenders.
  • Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and follow store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/Ada

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment and other assigned supplies.
  • Associates who work Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
