Responsibilities

  • Make eye contact, smile, and greet all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Treat fellow Associates with respect and follow company standards across all work centers.
  • Maintain a clean work area at all times and ensure proper merchandise presentation.
  • Be engaged in assigned tasks during all working hours and perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as needed by business needs.
  • May perform additional tasks as needed to achieve customer service and operational goals.
  • Understand safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors on the job.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Provide prompt, courteous assistance to Customers, including register operation, merchandise questions, and polite, knowledgeable answers; greet customers throughout the store and thank them at checkout.
  • Respond to Customer service calls promptly and escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the Ross brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks and replenish restroom supplies to maintain store, customer, and Team areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company's dress code.
  • Process daily merchandising and recovery to maintain a neat, clean, and organized store per standards.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per guidelines to support monthly presentation and department familiarity.
  • Understand Loss Prevention Awareness, the Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information, cash, and credit card information, and merchandise.
  • Follow MOS policies and proper disposal processes for identified MOS merchandise with Store Leadership review.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures for cash, checks, charge cards, refunds, voids, and offline transactions; maintain accuracy in handling tender.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maximize productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications

  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/Ada

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • Stockroom associates: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
