General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, maintains a clean work area, follows company standards, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions.
  • Treats customers and associates with respect and courtesy; greets customers by eye contact, smiling and assisting as needed; recognizes fellow associates using company programs.
  • Assists customers, is register-trained, answers questions, and provides courteous and knowledgeable service at the register.
  • Responds promptly to customer service calls and resolves issues helpfully, involving Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes supplies to maintain store areas and restrooms.
  • Maintains professional appearance and adheres to dress code.
  • Performs daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and merchandised to standards.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per guidelines and brand familiarity.
  • Understands Loss Prevention, shortage controls, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguards confidential information and company assets.
  • Follows MOS policies and proper processing of disposals; handles cash and transactions accurately.
  • Demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity and follow store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills

  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds frequently and more than 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment and other assigned supplies.
