Overview

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be assigned additional tasks to help achieve Customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in all duties.
• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure environment; keep exits clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet Customers by making eye contact, smiling, and saying hello; thank Customers at checkout.
• Assist Customers as needed — register-trained, assist with merchandise, answer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
• Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customers; respond to Service calls immediately; escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain store areas (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors) and replenish restroom supplies; disinfect high-touch areas.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
• Perform daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and efficiently merchandised to standards.
• Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly presentation guidelines; maintain merchandise/brand name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
• Understand Loss Prevention Awareness, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards.
• Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card data, and merchandise.
• Follow MOS procedures for identification, processing, and disposal of MOS merchandise with Store Leadership review.
• Follow cash, check, card and refund procedures; maintain accuracy with tenders.
• Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds on occasion.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
• For Stockroom shifts: ability to push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $15.49 - $15.99 per hour. The range is dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, education, seniority, and location. This range is one component of the total compensation package; other rewards vary by position and location.
