General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to help achieve Customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognizes fellow Associates using company recognition programs.
- Assists Customers as needed—register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions respectfully and knowledgeably; greets Customers throughout the Store.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; responds to Service calls; handles Customer issues courteously and involves Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks and maintains restrooms and high-touch areas to support a neat and safe environment.
- Maintains a professional appearance and follows the Company's dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandises items per guidelines, and maintains brand familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
- Understands Loss Prevention practices and merchandise protection standards.
- Maintains integrity and safeguards confidential information, cash and merchandise.
- Follows MOS policies, including identification and processing of MOS merchandise and notifying Store Leadership for disposals.
- Follows policies concerning cash, checks, card transactions, and refunds; maintains accuracy with monetary handling.
- Demonstrates urgency to perform duties efficiently and maximize productivity while following Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of the working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks and ladders.
- Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
- Associates who work Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $17.00. The base pay range depends on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range is one component of the total compensation package.
