The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting customers, maintaining appearance and cleanliness, and executing store standards as directed by leadership.

Responsibilities

• Understands that safety is the number one priority and maintains a safe environment on the sales floor.
• Maintains clutter-free, clear egress to emergency exits; reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Treats Customers and fellow Associates with respect; greets customers and remains courteous and professional at all times.
• Assists Customers with merchandise and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner; greets customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly tone.
• Provides prompt responses to Customer needs and follows up as required; escalates issues to Store Leadership when needed.
• Represents and supports the Ross brand at all times.
• Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes supplies to maintain store cleanliness and merchandising standards.
• Maintains professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
• Performs daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and organized per company standards.
• Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor in line with monthly presentation guidelines.
• Assists with Loss Prevention awareness and merchandise protection standards as applicable.
• Follows MOS policies and proper processing of disposals; adheres to cash handling and transaction procedures.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and follow Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills

• Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
• Stockroom associates: regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
