General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times.
- Assists Customers in any way necessary — is register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions politely and knowledgeably. Greet Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly greeting; thank Customers at every register transaction.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; responds to Service calls and involves Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes supplies to maintain store and team areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and merchandised to standards.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understands Loss Prevention, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follows all policies regarding cash handling and transactions; maintains accuracy with tenders.
- Demonstrates urgency to perform tasks efficiently and minimizes steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use store equipment, including POS terminals and registers.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, carry, and stoop; push/pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment and rolling racks; some assignments may require other qualifications.
- Associates who work Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $17.00 per hour. The base pay range is dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. This range is one component of the total compensation package.
