General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. This includes greeting customers, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and performing a range of tasks across store areas as needed to support customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors and maintain a safe environment on the sales floor.
- Maintain awareness to create a safe, secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy; greet customers and acknowledge them throughout the store; assist with merchandise and questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
- Provide prompt and efficient responses to customers; handle issues in a courteous manner and involve Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the company brand at all times; maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting high-touch areas) and replenish restroom supplies to maintain store standards.
- Assist with merchandise receipt flow to the sales floor, following monthly presentation guidelines and maintaining brand familiarity within departments.
- Understand Loss Prevention concepts and merchandise protection standards.
- Follow MOS (Miss out of Stock) policies and processing, including notification to Store Leadership for disposal reviews.
- Handle cash and transactions with accuracy and follow all related procedures.
- Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and adhere to store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; ability to push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
