General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include greeting customers, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, following company best practices, and performing a range of tasks as needed to support customer service and store operations.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors at all times.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet customers, make eye contact, and be professional.
- Assist Customers; be register-trained, answer questions, and help with merchandise; provide prompt responses and escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain store areas and restrooms.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and organized to standard.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per presentation guidelines.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; demonstrate integrity.
- Follow MOS policies and proper processing and notifications for disposals.
- Follow policies concerning cash, checks, credit cards, refunds, voids, and offline procedures; maintain accuracy with tenders.
- Work with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and align with store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders; some assignments may require other qualifications.
- Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.
