Flowtec Group is hiring: Construction Project Engineer in Chicago

My client is a well-established, reputable General Contractor in Chicago who performs work nationally. They specialize in corporate/office interiors, life-science and healthcare projects, performing over $600M annually with Chicago making up roughly $100M. Due to continued growth and a strong project backlog, they are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Project Engineer to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work
• Interpret and review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals
• Track and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely delivery of project milestones
• Support procurement and material tracking
• Conduct job site visits to monitor quality, progress, and compliance with plans and safety standards
• Document daily construction activities, meeting notes, and progress reports
• Help manage project closeout procedures including punch lists and as-builts
• Work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to resolve field issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field
• 1+ years experience as a Project Engineer with a GC
• Proficiency in construction management software

Job Offer

• $70,000 - $90,000 base salary
