LHH is seeking an Aerospace Project Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with an aerospace manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, IN. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team that specializes in the highest-quality and most precise products on the market. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $90-105K per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead quoting, kickoff, and execution of custom manufacturing projects from start to finish

  • Develop work instructions and initiate job routing documentation for production

  • Procure materials and ensure timely availability for manufacturing operations

  • Manage 10–15 concurrent low-volume, high-precision projects at a time

  • Interface directly with customers to provide weekly updates and technical support

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate project requirements and constraints

  • Oversee testing processes for rotational components in dedicated test environments

  • Monitor project timelines and adjust schedules using ERP and project management tools

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and defense-related manufacturing protocols

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and project workflows

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for all project phases

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet delivery and quality expectations

  • Resolve technical challenges and provide creative solutions for first-time builds

  • Track and report project metrics to internal stakeholders

  • Participate in customer meetings to review specifications and clarify deliverables


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required with a preference in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

  • Minimum of 3+ years of project management experience within the aerospace and/or defense manufacturing industry is required

  • Must have experience managing manufacturing projects (new product development) from cradle to grave

  • Must have experience with customer-facing roles and technical communication

  • Ideal candidates will have experience with low-volume, high-complexity aerospace components

  • Ideal candidates will have the ability to interpret and apply GD&T principles

  • Must have experience utilizing an ERP system and project scheduling tools such as Excel and/or Microsoft Project

  • Must possess strong time management and organizational skills ed
