Overview

A mid-size organization in Rhode Island is seeking a Facilities Project Manager for a one-year contract. This role will lead projects and oversee facilities maintenance operations, ensuring buildings remain safe, efficient, and compliant. You will manage skilled tradespeople and external contractors, direct preventive maintenance strategies, and oversee repairs, construction, and capital improvement projects.

What You’ll Do

• Plan, manage, and direct facility maintenance, repair, and construction projects.
• Supervise skilled and semi-skilled trades staff and contractors.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Prepare annual departmental goals, budgets, and contingency plans.
• Oversee service contracts and ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.
• Draft sketches or plans for building improvements or alterations.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and supply requisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in facilities, plant, or building maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, mechanical).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and preventive maintenance software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Valid driver’s license (insurability required).
• Must pass a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift or carry up to 15 lbs.
• Frequent standing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, and walking.
• Extended periods of sitting and computer use.

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based with a climate-controlled environment.
• Occasional outdoor exposure during inspections or site oversight.

Contract Details

• One-year Assignment (potential for extension based on organizational needs).
