We’re partnering with a local non-profit in Milwaukee to find an interim Staff Accountant to join their team for the next 7-8 months. We’re seeking at least three years of prior Accountant experience and a degree in Accounting is desired. This position has free parking available and work from home on Fridays. Hours are 8am to 4:30pm and full-time. Please apply for immediate consideration.

Responsibilities:

• Support monthly close by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including coding invoices, billing, deposits, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and monitor grant and departmental spending reports.
• Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and maintaining accurate records.
• Provide general accounting support and partner with external accounting services as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Accounting preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience preferred; nonprofit or audit background is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines while maintaining confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
