DELAWARE COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY

ACCOUNTANT

SALARY RANGE:  $58,000 TO $62,000

DESCRIPTION

 The Accountant shall report to the Director of Financial Operations and in cooperation with the Fee Accountant and Auditors will maintain financial records of DCHA utilizing DCHA accounting systems and software.  Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:

1.   Preparation and posting of periodic adjusting journal entries to general ledger

2.   General ledger monthly account analysis and reconciliation, identifying variances of the balance sheet and income/expense accounts, along with budget versus actual analysis

3.   Provide accounting support within the finance department and to other departments

4.   Assist with year-end audit requests, audit schedules, budget preparation and interim reporting and analysis

5.   Financial reporting for grants and maintenance of Authority grant documents

6.   Accounts receivable posting, analysis and reporting

7.   Accounts payable processing, including payment to vendors and 1099 processing

8.   Payroll processing, including, but not limited to, collaborating with HR

9.   Reconciliation of bank accounts

10. Assist in special financial projects as required by Director of Financial Operations

11. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Operations

REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting  

2. A valid Driver’s License is required and access to and use of a personal vehicle for daily transportation to and from work and to appointments outside the assigned office.

3. Solid written and verbal communication skills, considerable attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality

4. Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on strong  Excel skills.

5.  Requires continuing educational courses to maintain job expectations and standards

6.   Must pass a pre-employment, physical, drug and alcohol screening scheduled by the employer
