Company Overview:

A leading developer and investor in sustainable, affordable, and mixed-income multifamily real estate, with a portfolio of 19,000 apartment homes across 15 states and Washington DC, is seeking a Staff Accountant. This role will focus on the day-to-day operations of business entities, including financial reporting and consolidation.

This role will focus on the day-to-day operations of business entities, including financial reporting and consolidation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Review intercompany accounts for proper booking and reconciliation
• Analyze and maintain General Ledger accounts
• Prepare and post corporate recurring journal entries
• Prepare monthly accruals
• Initiate and post corporate wires and account transfers
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
• Manage and fund Capital Calls/Distributions and prepare related journal entries
• Review intercompany billing cash receipts postings for assigned entities
• Assist in corporate accounting and special projects as required
• Assist in year-end audit and tax return requests
• Prepare and review monthly/quarterly reporting for assigned entities
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
• 2-5 years of experience in public accounting and/or real estate accounting preferred
• CPA or CPA track preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of Property Accounting principles and processes
• Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles
• Experience with accounting software systems, Yardi preferred
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time to meet deadlines
  
  

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $38 – $40/hr, DOE
