Senior Corporate Accountant – Public Company | Hybrid | Carol Stream Area
A publicly traded industrial manufacturer with nearly $2 billion in annual revenue is seeking a Sr Corporate Accountant to join its lean, high-impact finance team. This opening is due to an upcoming retirement and offers a broad-based accounting role with exposure to consolidations, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration across approximately 40 global entities.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Accounting Director, the Sr Corporate Accountant will lead core accounting functions and support financial reporting, consolidations, and compliance initiatives. The role includes light oversight of a staff accountant and regular collaboration with global controllers and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end close for corporate entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
- Support financial consolidations and audit schedule preparation
- Maintain fixed assets and reconcile book vs. tax depreciation
- Manage lease accounting software and global reconciliations
- Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, IT, HR, Legal, and external auditors
- Assist with financial statement disclosures and SEC reporting
- Research and apply GAAP standards; support policy updates and internal controls
- Contribute to SOX compliance, process improvements, and system accuracy
- Participate in ad hoc projects across FP&A, reporting, and accounting operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum 3 years of corporate or public accounting experience (5+ preferred)
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience in mid-to-large public company environments ideal
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial systems
Compensation
- Salary: $95,000–$110,000 annually | Bonus: Not offered for this role
- PTO: 20 days annually, plus 5 paid sick days (accrual basis, prorated by hire date)
