Project Accountant Job Description:
PrideStaff Financial is working with an industry leader in real estate development who is in search of a Project Accountant. As a Project Accountant you will manage multiple projects while working with clients, project management, and financial controllers to manage and prepare for the approval of all financial records including overages and future costs. The ideal Project Accountant is well rounded in Accounting, has a background in real estate, understands GAAP and is self-motivated to excel in all areas. The Project Accountant is a full-time, in-office, Direct Hire position with an outstanding team in Roseville, CA.
Project Accountant Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage Financial Aspects of Multiple Real Estate Development Projects Simultaneously
Prepare & Analyze Project Budgets, Forecasts, & Cash Flow Projections
Monitor & Track Project Costs, Ensuring They Remain Within Budget
Process & Review Invoices, Ensuring Accuracy & Compliance WIth Contract Terms
Coordinate With Project Managers to Reconcile Actual Costs Against Budgeted Amounts
Assist in The Preparation of Monthly Financial Reports For Management Review
Collaborate With External Auditors During Annual Audits & Provide Necessary Documentation
Maintain Accurate & Up-to-Date Project Accounting Records
Identify & Report on Financial Variances & Potential Risks to Project Profitability
Prepare GAAP Based Financial Statements Including But Not Limited to a Balance Sheet, Income
Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Equality Roll Forward, & Other Supplemental Statements as
Requested
Liaise With Vendors, Contractors, & Internal Departments to Resolve Accounting Discrepancies
Prepare & Submit Various Regulatory Filings Related to Project Finances
Contribute to The Continuous Improvements of Financial Processes & Systems
Participate in Project Close-Out Activities, Ensuring All Financial Aspects Are Properly Concluded
Project Accountant Requirements & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or Related Field Required
3+ Years of Project Accounting Experience Required
Solid Understanding of GAAP
Demonstrate Excellent Written & Oral Communication
Manage Multiple Projects to Meet Deadlines in a Fast-Paced Environment
Self-Motivated & Proactive in Identifying & Addressing Financial Issues
Excellent Analytical, Technical, & Mathematical Skills
Team Play With The Ability to Work Collaboratively Across Departments
Solid Understanding of MS Office, Excel & Docs
Possesses Superb Organization & Multitasking Skills
