Project Accountant

PrideStaff Financial is hiring for a respected real estate development company. The team is passionate about delivering excellence in every aspect of their work, from design to construction to customer service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage financial aspects of multiple real estate development projects simultaneously
  • Prepare and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Monitor and track project costs, ensuring they remain within budget
  • Process and review invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms
  • Coordinate with project managers to reconcile actual costs against budgeted amounts
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports for management review
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project accounting records
  • Identify and report on financial variances and potential risks to project profitability
  • Prepare GAAP based financial statements including but not limited to a balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, equity roll forward, and other supplemental statements as requested.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Prepare and submit various regulatory filings related to project finances
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems
  • Participate in project close-out activities, ensuring all financial aspects are properly concluded

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in project accounting
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and addressing financial issues
