Project Accountant
PrideStaff Financial is hiring for a respected real estate development company. The team is passionate about delivering excellence in every aspect of their work, from design to construction to customer service.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage financial aspects of multiple real estate development projects simultaneously
- Prepare and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Monitor and track project costs, ensuring they remain within budget
- Process and review invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms
- Coordinate with project managers to reconcile actual costs against budgeted amounts
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports for management review
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project accounting records
- Identify and report on financial variances and potential risks to project profitability
- Prepare GAAP based financial statements including but not limited to a balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, equity roll forward, and other supplemental statements as requested.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Prepare and submit various regulatory filings related to project finances
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems
- Participate in project close-out activities, ensuring all financial aspects are properly concluded
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in project accounting
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and addressing financial issues
