Senior Accountant Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, journal entries, and both restricted and unrestricted funds to ensure financial accuracy
- Lead month-end close processes and prepare detailed financial statements and budget reports for department review
- Review grant agreements, monitor spending, and ensure timely compliance with funding requirements
- Assist in the development of the annual budget and participate in monthly budget meetings with department directors
- Support annual audits and 990 tax return preparation, providing accurate financial information for auditors
- Manage finance projects, including system upgrades, process improvements, and testing of financial systems
- Troubleshoot complex financial discrepancies and perform ad-hoc analyses to resolve issues efficiently
- Dive into legacy account reconciliations and technical investigations to resolve historical accounting issues
Senior Accountant Requirements
