Overview / Summary

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our accounting team who possesses a strong background in accounting principles and financial analysis. The Staff Accountant will assist in managing financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This individual will perform various accounting tasks involving sales, purchases, accounts payable and receivable, and fixed assets. Additional tasks include maintaining financial records and general ledger by preparing and recording journal entries and reconciling the general ledger accounts. This role requires good organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask, while working collaboratively with internal team members and external parties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Generate sales invoices
• Post customer payments; review aged receivable balances and follow up on past due invoices
• Process vendor invoices and generate checks weekly
• Assist with preparing monthly farm costs worksheets
• Maintain fixed assets records and depreciation schedules
• Update additions and disposals in fixed assets software and generate depreciation expense report
• Prepare and enter journal entries and assist with compiling records for financial review, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations
• Perform month-end close activities, including account reconciliations
• Assist with interim reviews and year-end audit and preparation of schedules and documents for independent auditors
• Digital recordkeeping and organization
• Collaborate with the team to develop SOP procedures and process workflow creation

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and experience in accounting
• Autonomous, problem-solving mindset with high work ethic and drive to succeed
• Excellent organizational, time management, communication and customer service skills

Additional Required Skills

• Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel
• Experience in accounting and financial report interpretation
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity

Salary

Annual Salary: $60,000
