Schedule: Must be able to work weekends and holidays; weekday hours also available
Hours: 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., dependent on weather and guest attendance; schedule subject to change through the spring and summer

Position Summary

Security Guards ensure that our guests enjoy a safe experience at Wildlife Conservation Society parks.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Presenting professionalism in uniform while assisting guests that are seeking information, medical assistance or other aid in a courteous manner.
2. Communicating clearly using a portable radio.
3. Following instructions and orders from Security Management and other competent authority.
4. Completing the Security Officer’s Daily Activity Report.
5. Will be required to remain at fixed post, a roving post covering a designated area, and entrance/exit gates, as needed.
6. Monitoring building conditions for overcrowding, disorderly persons, and prohibited items inside exhibits.
7. Completing other assignments as required and helping others on the team.

Qualifications

1. Must possess a valid New York State Security License.
2. Must possess a valid 8 hour & 16 hour training certificate.
3. Basic verbal communication skills.
4. Presenting a neat, clean and professional appearance.
5. Dependability and reliability.
6. Basic math skills.
7. Basic computer skills.
