Overview

Delivery Driver role at Elliott Electric Supply. This position supports warehouse operations by transporting materials along designated routes and ensuring safe operation of vehicles. It also involves delivering orders with prompt and courteous customer service, verifying that materials loaded on the truck match the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and are secured for transport from store to destination, unloading at each delivery location, and maintaining an orderly warehouse environment. A daily vehicle inspection is required to ensure general maintenance and safety. This role covers all aspects of warehouse functions including receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing products for customer delivery while keeping the warehouse orderly.

Responsibilities

• Transport materials over designated routes and operate vehicles safely.


• Provide prompt and courteous deliveries of orders and excellent customer service.


• Verify that material loaded on the truck matches the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and secure for transport.


• Unload materials at delivery locations in an orderly fashion and verify material accuracy.


• Perform daily detailed vehicle inspections to ensure maintenance and safety.


• Handle all warehouse functions including receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing products for customer delivery while keeping the warehouse in good order.


• This is a safety-sensitive position; ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Pre-employment drug test is required (drugs screened per HHS/SAMHSA guidelines).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Valid Driver's License in state of residence with 3 years driving history.


• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no type A violations; or no more than 1 type B violation in the past 3 years.


• Minimum of 1 year of driving experience within the past 36 months operating a commercial motor vehicle with GVWR of 10,001 lbs or more (preferred).


• Ability to read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze. Function independently with close attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent driving in all types of weather; must adhere to safety regulations.


• Occasional exposure to excessive noise and moving machinery.


• Frequent walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching.


• Regular handling of objects and lifting up to 75 pounds.


• Medically qualified to drive a motor vehicle per DOT requirements; a USDOT medical exam will be conducted.


• DOT/FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation (49 CFR Part 40) applies; medical marijuana is not recognized as a valid medical explanation for positive drug test results.
