Compensation Range: $17/hr - $19/hr commensurate with experience.

Overview:

The delivery driver maintains and executes mail handling and interoffice movement for Housing Works.

Responsibilities:

Your primary goals are to:

• Follow safety and security procedures at all times.
• Distribute mail and packages to departments and perform related duties.
• Lead and improve mail distribution systems.

Job Functions include handling received materials, preparing items for shipment, collecting outbound packages, ensuring full mail cycle delivery, maintaining records, operating mail equipment, performing outside courier duties, supporting operations staff, ensuring policy compliance, liaising with departments, and escalating issues appropriately.

Additional duties as assigned.

People & Teamwork:

• Collaborate with the Operations Manager on career development and team growth.
• Build strong relationships and maintain professionalism and excellent communication.

Driver’s Accountability:

• Complete vehicle inspection sheets monthly.
• Maintain a valid NY driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Handle moving violations responsibly.
• Follow NYC traffic laws and use company vehicles exclusively.

Advocacy:

• Participate in efforts to end homelessness and HIV/AIDS.

Qualifications include a valid NY driver’s license, clerical experience, ability to lift 50 lbs., knowledge of USPS rates, computer skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
