Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and strategic Marketing & Brand Strategy Manager to lead cross-functional marketing initiatives and drive business development alignment across our commercial, government, and luxury sectors. This role shapes how Derecktor shows up in the market, supporting everything from high-profile christenings to commercial bid support, trade shows, and brand expansion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

These shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

Strategic Marketing & Brand Development

  • Develop and execute brand-aligned outbound ROI driven marketing strategies for all lines of business (refit, new construction, hybrid vessels, service, dockage).
  • Lead storytelling initiatives, including social campaigns, print collateral, video content, and newsletters.
  • Manage messaging consistency across all platforms and stakeholders, including PR, web, and executive communications.
  • Design and manage the company-wide content calendar (minimum 3 posts per week).
  • Plan and execute content creation using tools like Canva and CapCut.
  • Manage and create all art files
  • Oversee monthly external e-newsletters (via Constant Contact) and quarterly internal communications.
  • Manage posting schedule through Sprout Social and maintain engagement across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Regularly assess analytics & pivot based on market conditions.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive marketing budget allocation across all locations and divisions, Quarterly reviews required and midyear forecasting.
  • Update/Create web pages as needed
  • Identify sponsorship opportunities and manage needs accordingly.
  • Capture images and video of yard activities for use in social media, video, marketing collateral.
  • Read and forward all website emails to the necessary departments.
  • Contact local media for major events at each yard
  • Introduce yacht industry to resources available in Fort Pierce

Business Development & Sales Enablement

  • Support new construction and commercial sales teams with proposal materials, pitch decks, and campaign development.
  • Monitor market trends and integrate buying triggers into campaign planning.
  • Collaborate across departments to support RFP responses and post-award marketing.
  • Coordinate and organize maritime industry events, including trade shows, conferences, and networking events in New York and Florida.

Client Engagement & Events

  • Plan and host vessel christenings, VIP tours, open houses, and yard events.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with captains, crew, brokers, key media partners and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate trade association and client appreciation events onsite and offsite.
  • Represent Derecktor at national and regional industry events.
  • Workin advance to secure booth space, electricity, furnishings, flooring and collateral material.
  • Account based marketing strategy development & execution (Loyalty program, Referral incentives, Thanks Client gifting)
  • Support development of client tagging, segmentation, and CRM enhancements.
  • Track communication preferences, decision roles, cruising patterns, and client history.
  • Align marketing with sales data for campaign targeting and reporting.

Creative samples or portfolio will be requested

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skill
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management and organization skills in order to plan and execute both large and small marketing projects and initiatives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate clearly with various people including graphic designers, public relations and advertising, as well as vendors, contractors and freelancers
  • Maritime Industry experience – specifically with yachts
  • Ability to use graphic design software to create collateral, newsletters, informational pieces and other materials
  • Ability to travel is required

Required Qualifications:

  • 5–7+ years in marketing, brand management, or business development in a B2B or industrial sector (maritime preferred).
  • Expertise in social media content creation and scheduling (Sprout Social).
  • Experience with CapCut, Canva, Constant Contact, and CRM tools (Odoo/HubSpot/Salesforce).
  • Strong writing and design skills for digital and print formats.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel quarterly to Derecktor New York and other sites as needed.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with yacht crew culture, captain engagement, and maritime client relationship dynamics.
  • Event production experience (from concept through execution) for client, broker, or industry groups.
  • Experience in shipbuilding, heavy industry, or government procurement markets.
  • Familiarity with hybrid-electric vessel sector or Subchapter T markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field or at least 5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the maritime industry

Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spaces/close quarters. Applicant must be able to access all areas of the shipyard and company property including docks in all types of weather conditions. Shipyard work is often noisy and dirty.
