Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Electrician who is eager to expand their skillset into industrial automation. This role will focus on electrical maintenance and installation while contributing to the development and growth of our automation initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dynamic team of millwrights, electricians, and maintenance staff to maintain and modernize our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations on cooperative facilities and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Assist in designing, programming, and troubleshooting automation systems (e.g., PLCs, VFDs, HMI interfaces).
- Participate in system upgrades and automation projects across various cooperative locations.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate closely with other trades and technical staff on cross-functional maintenance and modernization efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical and automation systems, modifications, and inspections.
- Stay current on trends and technologies in industrial automation and electrical systems.
Qualifications
- Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or higher ) with a minimum of 3 years of industrial or commercial experience.
- Strong knowledge of the Electrical Code (NEC) and industrial electrical systems.
- Interest in or experience with automation systems such as PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), SCADA, and HMI design.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documents.
- Demonstrated desire to learn, adapt, and grow within a technology-forward environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to cooperative facilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience with grain handling, energy, or agricultural operations.
- Familiarity with control systems integration and networking concepts.
- Certifications or coursework in industrial automation or related technologies.
