Position Overview: A Licensed or Non-Licensed Electrician installs basic electrical equipment and systems following all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components, and devices based on blueprints and building plans.
  • Install and mount electronic controls, devices, panels, sensors, and components.
  • Perform interlock wiring as required.
  • Test electrical systems and circuit continuity using testing devices.
  • Inspect installation sites and review work orders, plans, and manuals to determine materials and procedures.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Read and interpret contract drawings.
  • Troubleshoot EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.

Qualifications

  • At least four (4) years of experience in the electrical industry.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must pass background check and drug test.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Possibility of mandatory overtime, including nights and weekends.

Working Conditions

  • This role is physically demanding, often outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Work may be at heights, in construction areas, or restricted spaces like switchgear rooms, manholes, tunnels, crawl spaces, or attics.
  • Access may require O.S.H.A. approved ladders or stairs under construction.
  • Flexible work hours, including overtime, weekends, and nights, are common.
  • Professional conduct is required when working with customers and their representatives.

Abilities

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Relocate a 12-foot stepladder unaided.
  • Work at heights up to 60 feet, climbing scaffolds, lifts, or ladders.
  • Perform physical tasks like walking, climbing, lifting, crawling, and reaching.
  • Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, hearing, and communication skills in English.
  • Recognize problems or potential issues.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems and draw conclusions.
  • See details within a few feet, and understand spoken information.
