Position Summary::Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Part-Time Human Resources Specialist to support a range of HR functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Officer, Human Resources and Organizational Culture, this role involves assisting with benefits administration, onboarding, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-focused, and has a strong understanding of human resources best practices.
Required Education/Experience::- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One years experience working in a Human Resources department.
- Associate or bachelors degree in business, human resources, or any related field.
- General Knowledge of employment laws and best practices.
- PSHRA-CP, SHRM or HRCI certified a plus.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good technical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn, human resource information system (HRIS), and/or similar computer applications.

Duty and Responsibility::Provides administrative support for benefits, onboarding, Learning and Development, and other related employment functions and operations.
Welcome new employees and assist with the collection and completion of new hire paperwork in accordance with employment law requirements and regulations.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation as well as updating federal law posters. Review and send employee personnel files in accordance with the Records Retention & Disposition Schedule Colleges in the North Carolina Community College System.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Acts as a liaison between the organization and external providers and vendors, which may include recruitment, staffing, HRIS and employment providers.
Assists with planning and coordinating new hire orientation, employee training, job fairs, and other special events and meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
