Responsibilities
- Reviews and ensures the accuracy and completeness of human resource documents; provides technical and procedural assistance to support employment and records processes; maintains confidential records and generates reports.
- Performs paraprofessional, technical, and clerical tasks in support of the Sheridan College Human Resources Department, including recruitment, employee relations, student relations, onboarding, compensation, benefits, and training.
- Explains human resource policies, procedures, and programs to employees and external customers.
- Provide guidance to others in registering or applying for human resource programs and manage related documentation.
- Support office operations for the human resources department and deliver customer service for a variety of activities and initiatives.
- Support professional development through an individual development plan and participate in ongoing training.
Qualifications
- Education/Qualifications: High school graduation or equivalent. Associate Degree preferred but not required.
- HR experience: Human Resource experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to meet deadlines; proficiency with computers and software applications; ability to work as part of a team.
- Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Sedentary office work; computer use for extended periods.
