$28.00/yr - $30.00/yr

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide administrative support of the day-to-day Human Resources operations in the Plant. Assists the HR Manager for the organization to achieve overall plant objectives. Major areas covered are HR Department Administration & Reporting, Payroll coordination, New Employee Orientation, Training, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Communications, Benefits Processing, Health & Wellness, Safety Reporting and Uniform/Laundry Services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains HR Systems
  • Ability to analyze HR data and generate reports as needed such as OSHA Log, MA 101, Payroll reports, employee reports as required by the Corporate Office or from the plant.
  • Maintains employee personnel and medical records in accordance with company policies and government regulations. Retains records adhering to the company record retention requirements.
  • Maintains temporary staffing records and update Temporary Employee Security Log
  • Assist employees with human resources related questions and issues.
  • Process applications, new hires, terminations and employment changes.
  • Develops and executes employee relation activities and events.
  • Maintains employee access cards and visitor/ Contractor ID badges.
  • Maintains bulletin boards.
  • Responsible for preparation and verification of hourly payroll. Verifies accuracy of hours exported and reviews payroll register submitted by Corporate. Verifies benefit deductions and salary changes in a timely manner.
  • Submits direct deposits changes, tax information and 401K Beneficiary changes for employees to Corporate.
  • Administers purchasing process for Human Resources Department. Adheres to set department budget.
  • Manages the recruitment and onboarding process for the plant (temporary and permanent positions).
  • Manages the parking tag program.
  • Oversees the City of Cambridge internship program candidates
  • Oversees the Security Office record keeping
  • Manages the Laundry/Uniform program, ensuring effectiveness of cleaning.
  • Employee Safety – Coordinate events such as Safety Day, Safety Walks, and First Responder program.
  • Provides clerical support and translation support to other departments as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assigned the responsibilities of the HR Manager, including Food Defense and SQF responsibilities when the HR Manager is not on site

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Professional Certification in the Human Resources field is a plus
  • Generalist background with broad knowledge of Employment, Compensation, Management Practices, Training & Development, Compliance Practices, and Employee Relations.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • 1+ years of experience gained through generalist positions within Human Resources with increasing responsibility
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a must
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus
