Job Summary

At Full Steam Staffing, our employees are our greatest asset. We are actively seeking a Human Resources Manager with outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. You will play a key role in ensuring that we continue to encourage, support, and retain our employees. You’ll be responsible for the full scope of Human Resources HR activities, including training and development, ensuring everyone is adhering to the company policies and procedures. You will be responsible for managing a variety of HR projects, communicating and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and providing guidance to staff and management on related policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the operations team, providing counsel and guidance regarding policies, procedures, and state and federal regulatory compliance requirements; keep management and operations informed of internal and external HR developments that may impact overall effectiveness
  • Guide managers and supervisors in appropriate and fair human resources practices; assist supervisors with performance management, including delivering disciplinary action for hourly employees
  • Maintain associate personnel files, ensure documents and manuals are kept current, accurate, confidential, and in compliance with company policies and government regulations
  • Partner with the leave administrator and management team to effectively administer and track leave programs, such as FMLA and/or Reasonable Accommodation leave
  • Answer questions from employees and managers about company policies and procedures, benefits, and other HR-related topics. Manage the leaves of absence process, ensuring timely and compliant return to work
  • Provide assistance and support with compliance reporting
  • Maintain full and complete employee documentation systems. This includes the development and maintenance of documentation systems to ensure record-keeping and reporting requirements are complete, accurate, and easily accessible to the appropriate company personnel
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Meet with supervisors and managers to determine effective remediation techniques, such as job skill training or personal intervention, in an effort to prevent or resolve human relations issues among personnel
  • Provide administrative support and assistance to the Human Resources Department
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned
  • 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist (essential)
  • Understanding of labor law and employment regulations
  • Effective HR administration and people management skills
  • Exposure to payroll practices
  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Proficient with Gmail, Spreadsheets, Word Google Doc, MS Office, and related business and communication tools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND LONG HOURS
