JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resource Generalist runs the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including managing on-boarding and off-boarding of company personnel, administering benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Recruiter and Staffing Agencies to facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with Three Wire/MyAdvisor division managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, and other work as assigned. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Minimum Experience: 5+ years of human resource generalist experience required. 2+ years of benefit administration experience preferred.

Physical Capabilities: Sitting, standing, walking and traveling to off sites; some carrying of computer equipment.

Required Licenses, Certification or Registration: SHRM-CP Certification or HRCI PHR preferred.

Work Environment: Typical Professional Office Environment. Some travel to off-site locations for face-to-face meetings.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior approval of the HR Director.
