Responsibilities



  • Manages the following Departments/Functions: Human Resources (including Safety, Security, Payroll, Legal) and Administration (including overseeing the Safety team for OSHA 18001 Safety Management System as Management Representative); develops company policies and procedures and incorporates them into the Team Member handbook; develops and sets policies for hiring and oversees adherence to EEOC and affirmative action programs and diversity goals; establishes policies to increase retention and foster employee job satisfaction and morale; approves terminations with well-documented, non-arbitrary, non-discriminatory reasons; oversees maintenance and accuracy of personnel records with confidentiality and retention compliance; stays current with legislation affecting human resources, trains management, and monitors policies to ensure compliance; oversees preparation of job descriptions and compensation programs, and seeks incentive programs to encourage performance and retention; reviews benefits to maximize job satisfaction while controlling costs; works with top management to set long-term staffing goals and strategies; oversees training and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance; makes regular reports to the President and General Manager of Finance; serves as alternate emergency coordinator for hazardous waste or spill issues; acts as alternate for Safety Specialist during absence; attends initial and annual RCRA training as required by 40 CFR; performs all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications



  • Over five (5) years of experience in Human Resources with increasing supervisory responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge of laws affecting human resources administration

  • Demonstrated management and organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals


Education



  • B. S. degree (preferably a Master’s Degree) in Business Administration or related field
