Job Overview
The Human Resources Manager (HRM) will oversee all day-to-day functions of the Humans Resources department including recruitment, employee relations, compensation, performance, benefits, and legal compliance. The HRM will lead and support the HR team in ensuring that the organization has the right people, with the right skills, in the right roles and that they are engaged, productive and compliant with all relevant laws and regulations. This role operates within a dynamic growing environment where adaptation to evolving organizational needs is key. This job requires you to be independent and fully on-site working overtime when needed-remote work is not available. Overtime will be required to support the needs of the business.
ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)
- Understands and executes the organization's human resource strategies with particular importance relating to recruitment, retention, employee relations and compliance with state and federal law.
- Management of full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process with the Talent Acquisition Specialist.
- Independently and successfully resolves complex employee relations issues with HR Generalists and Managers; considers company culture as well as organizational goals and values while ensuring legal compliance.
- Exercises autonomy in identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing them without constant oversight.
- Facilitates open dialogue and builds strong relationships with employees at all levels, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the HR Generalists and the Talent Acquisition Specialist.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Recruits, interviews, and hires qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles but may be required to assist in some nonexempt as well; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Proven track record in ensuring benefits and compensation programs are managed and administered properly; analyzes trends, researches, and proposes competitive programs along with the benefit broker and Director of HR to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Works with the Training and Development manager to assist in creating learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Creates and presents engaging training materials to diverse audiences.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; continuously reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Manages and ensures timely reporting of all HR Metrics to leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of previous HR Manager experience and/or 5-7 years of experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Highly independent and self-motivated.
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to adapt to change in a growing and successful environment.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of employee benefits.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
This position requires you to lead human resources and recruiting staff in multiple locations.
Travel Requirements
This position will require travel to other locations in WI .
