Join Our Team as a Human Resources Generalist
At Lakeside Book Company, we believe in building a workplace where people thrive. As an HR Generalist, you’ll be a key partner supporting our employees and leaders while fostering a culture of collaboration, communication, and care.
What You’ll Do:
- Support HR efforts across employee relations, staffing, safety, and training for your assigned locations
- Provide guidance to leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Champion our Open Door Policy by supporting proactive communication and conflict resolution
- Help lead and support training initiatives, new hire orientation, and leadership development
- Manage personnel files and HR system updates while ensuring compliance with employment laws
- Support benefits education and guide employees through questions and enrollment
- Partner with safety and workers’ compensation teams to ensure timely claim resolution
- Contribute to HR programs that drive employee engagement, recognition, and development
- Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of HR experience (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a people-first approach
- Confidence handling sensitive matters and navigating employee relations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn HR systems
- Knowledge of employment laws, safety practices, and compliance standards
- A team mindset with the ability to influence, guide, and collaborate effectively
